Quilting Class: Meadow Mini's Ruler Work on a Domestic Machine - SG

Meadow Minis is a pattern designed by Amanda Murphy. I have taught this class before in a different state and so excited about offering it for Dave's Bernina. This is a quilt as you go assembly. The quilt is divided into 6 unique blocks. What makes this quilt so much fun is each of the 6 blocks are small and easy to quilt on a domestic machine. The quilting fun is in class using rulers and free-motion skills! After all six blocks are completed the quilt is ready to sew together. The sashing's and borders are added to the top.

Pre-requisite: Must be proficient with quilt piecing and have previously taken a quilting with rulers on a domestic machine class.

Home Work (Pre-Class Preparation) *

Each block is pieced, sandwiched with batting and backing before class. Be sure to read the pattern thoroughly and pay close attention to the Quilt Assembly (Trimming the Blocks…) on page 19. The instructions include precise measurements for backing and batting that extend beyond the top. Be generous with batting and backing extending around all sides of each block. I would have 3 inches all the way around the block. The blocks will be trimmed to the appropriate size on week 4 of class. When the quilt is assembled the seams will be covered with sashing on top.

Week 1 - 03/08/2021: Must have Block 1 and 2 pieced, sandwiched with batting and backing before class.
Week 2 - 03/15/2021: Must have Block 3 and 4 pieced, sandwiched with batting and backing before class.
Week 3 - 03/29/2021: Must have Block 5 and 6 pieced, sandwiched with batting and backing before class.
Week 4 - 04/05/2021: With all 6 blocks completed we will trim the blocks and sew them together. Apply sashing.
